& Vintage Vehicle Hire
We are pleased to offer
vintage buses and classic coaches from the 1960’s 1970’s and 1980’s for
weddings and other special hires.
They can be hired with Driver
and Conductor (complete with ticket machine) in full period uniform for any
event you wish to celebrate in style!
These buses are excellent
crowd movers and can be useful for weddings and private parties to convey
guests from one venue to another in convivial and nostalgic surroundings. Or,
why not arrange a surprise family outing for someone’s special milestone
birthday?
We can even
make suitable destination displays to customise the bus for your event, and you
are welcome to decorate the bus with bows, streamers, ribbons and banners – go
as far as your imagination (and arms) can reach!
Proceeds from these hires allow the vehicles a secure
working future and funds their continued preservation and restoration.
969EHW and BHU92C are
privately owned by Dr. Mike Walker of the Bristol Omnibus Vehicle Collection (www.bristolbuses.co.uk), and are available
for hire on a limited number of occasions during the year.
YHY592J and D101GHY are part
of the North Somerset Coaches heritage fleet and are available all year.
We respectfully ask that
potential hirers bear in mind these vehicles are rare and have many delicate
fixtures and fittings that cannot be replaced if damaged. Food and Drink are
not permitted on these vehicles, and it may also be necessary to ask for a
refundable damage and cleaning deposit in addition to any usual deposit
required by our standard terms of hire. It should be noted that substitution by
a modern vehicle may be unavoidable if the booked heritage vehicle is
defective, although every effort will be made to provide an alternative vintage
vehicle if time permits. Full terms and conditions are provided at the time of
booking.

New to Bristol Greyhound and spent its entire working
life in Bristol. Restored to original red and cream livery |

YHY592J 1971 Bristol
RE single-deck bus 10-litre Leyland Engine Top Speed 50mph
50 bus seats in traditional “Rupert Bear” trim
New to Bristol Omnibus Company at and spent most of its
life at Bath Depot. Then worked for Hastings & District and was
privately preserved before purchase by North Somerset Coaches in March 2010. Currently carrying 1970’s London Transport livery as applied by the previous owners |

Seats in period orange/brown trim
New to Badgerline at Weston-super-Mare in 1987,
latterly passing to various depots before withdrawal and sale to North
Somerset Coaches in November 2007. Full interior refurbishment completed Winter 2009-10,
including complete new saloon floor and seats re-foamed and re-covered with
new material |

Progress – 1960’s – YBD201 1961 Bristol
MW Luxury Touring Coach
Recently acquired for continued restoration is this superb
1961 Bristol MW, similar to BHU92C described above but the full “luxury
touring coach” version with glazed roof-light windows. The original seats
have been found and in August 2010 we started refitting the renovated seats,
now covered in new moquette. |
